DENTINAL FLUID TRANSPORT

Newly published

The book Dentinal Fluid Transport (University Press, Centennial Edition 1905- 2005; ISBN number 159410-008-X), about the life research of Drs. Ralph Steinman and John Leonora, was published this fall. It is a condensation of nearly 100 of their articles and provides the basis of the little-recognized DFT theory in which dental caries resistance is ultimately hormonally mediated (systemically inter-related through a newly discovered Parotid Hormone). The compilation of these references by Dr. Clyde Roggenkamp was partly sponsored by the department of restorative dentistry. Sample book copies were recently sent to Doody Enterprises, Inc., an information clearinghouse that reviews and distributes currently relevant book titles in the health sciences, including dentistry. “If the book is accepted,” says Dr. Roggenkamp, “the literature review of Steinman’s and Leonora’s works should provide a significant contribution to dental libraries for students and researchers globally. Its title is entered on an international registry, making it available on Google and other information search engines. Richard Tinker designed the cover. Also, Dr. Roggenkamp would like to thank to Nelia Wurangian-Caan, associate librarian, Del E. Webb Memorial Library, for providing Library of Congress application advice and online contact information.
